This “mini-guide” contains structural illustrations and a table with identification and sound characteristics for 34 species and 8 sub-species of sparrows, juncos, towhees, and longspurs found in Arizona.

The illustrations provide relative standards for evaluating the shape and size of the bill as well as the bill and tail length.  The table highlights key structural characteristics, vocalizations, and other identification clues.
